Help &Advice

¨     Enquiry Circulation Service

The Institute provides valuable Enquiry Services for those requiring the help and advice of a qualified Licensing Practitioner.   These services are designed to ensure that all types of enquiry receive offers of professional assistance from those Fellows of the Institute best placed to meet the particular needs of each case.

¨    Corporate Enquirers

Experience has shown that because of the wide diversity of needs of companies, institutions and other organisations seeking licensing or licensing-related help and advice, the most efficient way for the Institute to involve Fellows with the appropriate skills and expertise is through a preliminary discussion with the Institute’s Secretary.

What you should do

Companies, SMEs, firms and other corporate organisations should, in the first instance, address their enquiries to the Secretary of the Institute who will be pleased to discuss with them the precise nature and details of their new technology/opportunity search needs, “outward” licensing needs or any other requirements related to technology transfer, licensing and the commercialisation of IP.

¨    Private Enquirers

Independent and private enquirers are invited to obtain offers of assistance via the Institute’s standard Enquiry Circulation Service.  For a nominal £50 fee the Institute will circulate brief, non-confidential details of the enquirer’s need for help in commercialising his invention to all Fellows, inviting those who have experience in the relevant technology or product field to make direct contact.  Enquirers are subsequently able to hold exploratory discussions with those Fellows whose experience and areas of specialisation are relevant to the new product or technology in question.

What you should do

In the first instance a cheque for £50.00, payable to “The Institute of International Licensing Practitioners”, should be sent to the Secretary, together with the name and address of the enquirer and a daytime telephone contact number.

PLEASE NOTE:

¨       NO DETAILS OF ANY INVENTION, intellectual property or new product SHOULD BE SENT to the Institute, and the Institute shall not be held liable under any circumstances for the return or safe keeping of any unsolicited material that it may receive.

¨       The Institute is not an advisory or free information service.
